It’s weird how our closets are always full of clothes but we never have “anything” to wear. Yet we keep buying new clothing because of changes in styles and trends. Fashion is one of the fastest changing industry, what is cool today is considered ugly the next.
According to a recent article, What happens to our used clothing by Good magazine, Globally, 85% of our clothes go directly to the landfill. From the clothes donated to charities, only a small percentage is resold.
The rest is taken to facilities where they are sorted and sold to companies, to be used as rags or shredded for the raw material. The wearable clothing categorized and sold to other countries by the bulk, where it is sold to middle men. In turn, they sell it to the public by a few cents more than the clothing sold by charities
